Most people who buy indoor plants eventually run into the same problem: they either water too much or not enough. The Urban Dweller Self-Watering Pot is designed to stop that cycle. By using a basic reservoir system, this indoor self-watering plant pot keeps soil moisture consistent without requiring you to check on it every single day.

How the System Works

The Urban Dweller Self-Watering Pot consists of two main parts: a top section for your soil and a bottom base that holds water. A small, built-in basket extends from the top into the water below. Through capillary action (essentially the soil acting like a sponge) the plant pulls up exactly what it needs.

This setup makes it the best for species like ferns, calatheas, or peace lilies, which tend to wilt the moment their soil dries out. Because the water stays in the base rather than sitting in the soil, you don’t have to worry about the roots rotting from lack of oxygen. It’s a practical way to manage your indoor plants with a lot less effort.
